We need you to take a step for diabetes: join the IDF 2013 World Diabetes Day campaign!

Take a Step for Diabetes: this is the message of the 2013 World Diabetes Day campaign of the International Diabetes Federation (IDF).

Its aim: engaging people in the diabetes cause by encouraging them to make a symbolic donation of steps through various activities. A step is considered to be any activity that helps promote diabetes awareness, improve the lives of people with diabetes, promote healthy lifestyles or reduce one’s individual risk of developing diabetes. More concretely, this means: run a marathon for diabetes, organize an awareness-raising event, do a flashmob or form a human blue circle, the symbol of diabetes.

Steps are submitted to the IDF Take a Step online platform and count towards reaching the target number of 371 million steps, in support of the 371 million people living with diabetes worldwide.

How to take part?

All you need to do is go to the campaign's online platform, steps.worlddiabetesday.org, create your account as an individual or as a group, and submit your steps!

Besides English, the "Take a Step for Diabetes " platform is also available in French, Spanish and Portuguese.
