In the Spotlight
World Diabetes Day 2013 and Diabetes Awareness week in the European Parliament- With the support of Sarah Ludford MEP, IDF Europe organised this year a week-long campaign to raise awareness of diabetes. Under the theme Ingredients for a Healthy Lifestyle, the one-week campaign included activities ranging from healthy lunches on offer all week in the three sites of the European Parliament (Brussels, Luxembourg and Strasbourg) to special sports sessions to learn all there is to know about being active.
A breakfast debate on Wednesday 13 November brought a special focus to the issue of access to diabetes treatment with the launch of the initial findings of the IDF Europe study on Access to Quality Medicines and Medical Devices for Diabetes Care in Europe.
The next edition of the IDF Europe quarterly newsletter to be published on 28 November will focus on World Diabetes Day and the numerous and successful initiatives carried out by European diabetes associations on this occasion. Member Association’s initiatives and activities can be viewed on IDF Europe’s newsroom.
