IDF Europe launches survey on access to medicines and medical devices for diabetes care in Europe - The survey aims to assess whether people living with diabetes across Europe have equal access to high quality and innovative diabetes medicines and medical devices. IDF Europe calls on national diabetes associations to give their input to the study. Find out more.
Stakes are high for NCDs and diabetes at 66th World Health Assembly - Member States will seek to adopt the Global Monitoring Framework on NCDs, endorse the Global NCD Action Plan 2013-2020, including a description of a Global Coordination Mechanism for NCDs. Diabetes and driving licence: IDF Europe meets DGMove - IDF Europe met with DG Move to share the feedback received from national diabetes associations on the implementation of the EU directive on driving licence. WHO Europe holds high-level conference on Health systems in times of global economic crisis - Held on 17-18 April, the event was the opportunity to assess the overall impact of the crisis on health care systems and review government policy responses. Mapping salt reduction initiatives in the WHO European Region - In order to reduce the growing burden of NCDs, WHO recommends reducing salt intake in the general population as a cost-effective strategy.
