The diabetes community in the Czech Republic made its voice heard this year on World Diabetes Day. Diabetes associations in the country released a diabetes anthem to celebrate World Diabetes Day and raise awareness of the chronic condition.
The project -a joint initiative between diabetes associations from Czech Republic and Slovakia, (DIAstyl, UDCR, Diaktiv, Slovak Union of people with diabetes)- is a song called "La Révolution" and sees Zuzana Haasova, who was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at 7, and Josef Pavlusik, winner of a national Talent show, singing about overcoming the battles of living with diabetes and advocate for the rights of people living with the condition. A video of the song is available on Youtube.
Also, the DIAstyl joined the Global Diabetes Walk in the centre of the country’s capital, Prague. More photos from the WDD events are available on the association’s Facebook page.
