Azerbaijan: Join the Global Diabetes Walk

The Azerbaijan Diabetes Association made sure diabetes was high on the agenda on World Diabetes Day by organising a Diabetes Walk in Baku, the country’s capital. Participants to the walk included people with diabetes, healthcare professionals, representatives from diabetes associations and many supporters coming together with one goal: raise awareness of diabetes.

The diabetes community also made its voice heard amongst policy makers at a joint conference organised on the same day gathering representatives of the United Nations in Azerbaijan and the authorities of the Nasimi District in Baku. The conference was the opportunity for the Azerbaijan Diabetes Association to engage with policy makers and key stakeholders on the different issues people with diabetes are facing in the country.
