The Maltese Diabetes Association is set to have a busy start of the summer with a series of awareness-raising and educational initiatives to be held this July.
The association will first focus on empowering children and young people with diabetes by hosting its 2013 Diabetes Summer Camp from 4 to 6 July 2013. The camp will include educational as well as sports and recreational activities.
On 11 July, the Maltese Diabetes Association will host a national seminar. The main focus of the event will be: “the challenges of diabetes as long-term chronic condition: the personal and clinical perspective”. A varied panel of speakers will contribute to the seminar, including people with diabetes and health care professional. IDF President Sir Michael Hirst will also be amongst guest speakers.
Hard on the heels of the national diabetes seminar, the association will then host its annual “Dine 4 Diabetes” fundraising dinner on 12 July. An annual success event, the Maltese Diabetes Association expects numerous participants to raise funds for diabetes.
