Giulia first joined IDF Europe in January 2014 as an intern, and worked mainly on the 2014 EU elections, monitoring the elections and IDF Europe’s campaign. In her new role as Policy Officer, she is working on diabetes advocacy and policy-related activities for the organization. An important part of her work in the upcoming months will be to organize and coordinate IDF Europe’s annual World Diabetes Day event in the European Parliament.
Commenting on the main event, a lunch debate taking place in October in Strasbourg, Giulia says: "I believe the importance of connecting the European Institutions with the real struggle of the people is paramount. The event in the Parliament is a great opportunity for diabetes advocates, such as the IDF Europe youth advocates, to be in focus and have a chance to contact their representatives directly."
Working at IDF, Giulia says “is a challenging and interesting experience”. She adds: “It has made me grow both on a professional and personal level. Finding new ways of promoting and enhancing the organization’s relations with the European Institutions, and its work within it, has improved both my knowledge of politics and my passion and motivation for the diabetes cause”.
Favorite quote: "Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end"
Hopes for the future: “To travel around the world. India, Russia, Brazil and Argentina are just a few of the many places I would love to visit.”
